Mental Health Awareness Week 2019

At Kaplan Altior we recognise the importance of good mental health for our team and our delegates and that's why the Kaplan Altior Team is looking forward to participating in a Mental Health First Aid Training Course next month.

Supporting delegates from all backgrounds and with a huge variety of needs is part of our every day job as a training provider but to do this well we must stay alert to the ever changing needs of our delegates and remain on top of current advice.

In recent years mental health issues have become more prevalent within the legal profession as demonstrated by a number of recent studies such as  the JLD's resilience and wellbeing report. This rise in mental health issues has led us to think about how we can best support our own team in times of difficulty and our delegates, so we've decided to throw ourselves headlong into becoming mental health first aiders. A number of our team have volunteered to be the guinea pigs for this new training and we're hoping that we'll have our first batch of qualified mental health first aiders in the office soon.

Awareness of any issue is the first step towards understanding how we can assist people and provide appropriate support when needed, so we're gearing up to understand more about the challenges people face when dealing with mental ill health.

Watch out for our progress as I'm sure we'll be keen to share some of the things we've learned with everyone.
