The SRA Risk Outlook 2018 highlights the risks and dangers investment schemes pose to solicitors and their clients. The SRA has outlined a number of core issues of which solicitors need to be aware in order to ensure they are not falling below standards of expected behaviour.
This course will introduce and explain investment schemes and their associated risks. The course trainer, Michael Cotter, is an expert Financial Services Lawyer who can provide real world insight and examples of assisting and working with those affected by investment scheme collapses which have affected both private clients and corporate bodies.
This course is applicable to all solicitors. Each individual is responsible for complying with the requirements of the SRA Handbook and the managers of each firm are responsible for the overall compliance of their individual firms.
Compliance Officers for Legal Practice (COLPs) and for Finance and Administration (COFAs) will find these courses of particular interest as their role is to champion compliance and good risk management within their firms. These courses may be integrated within existing processes to ensure that individuals are given sufficient information to comply with the SRA Handbook.
