This course will help delegates understand the commercial importance of Intellectual Property (IP) and improve their skills when dealing with IP matters.
Learning begins with an overview of the main types of IP, but its focus is on drafting clauses commonly found in licensing agreements and assignments. Some time will also be spent looking at the main considerations when undertaking IP due diligence in a general commercial transaction, IP warranties that are typically included in commercial agreements, as well as some contentious IP matters.
Whilst the course is suited primarily to practitioners who have little experience of IP and need to be able to advise their client on the protection and exploitation of IP, it will also be of interest lawyers wanting to move into this practice area.
