Format & Delivery

Taught by an experienced practitioner, this course comprises elements of trainer-led learning, practical exercises and group work.  It will highlight examples of good and bad practice, examine how to draft clear and effective documents and give you the chance to try out what you have learned and to receive constructive feedback.  This is a practical one-day course for litigation lawyers interested in drafting their own court documents.

Prior Knowledge

Whilst there are no formal knowledge or practice pre-requisites, delegates with at least some previous will drafting experience and some familiarity with the main elements of probate law and practice will derive the most benefit from the session.

Coursework

Preparation

You will be required to complete (and, if necessary, submit) a series of preparatory exercises, in accordance with the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority (SRA)’s requirements.

The completion of this work will allow the training day to focus on skills-development.

Post-Coursework

The post-coursework for this course is completion of a Personal Development Plan.

By completing this exercise, you will reflect on the knowledge acquired from attending this course, and plan and record ongoing learning and development needs; as required by the SRA continuing competence regime.
