ACFE Meet the Delegate: Gael Falconer-Inglis

Fraud is impacting organisations across all industries and many professional organisations are searching for effective solutions to help tackle this issue through continuous training and development for their team. This is where Altior’s Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE) course can prove essential. This week, we’re speaking to Gael Falconer-Inglis, head of internal audit at Inchcape Shipping Services about her ACFE course experience.

COURSE INFORMATION

How did you first hear about Altior?
Through the ACFE website.

Why did you choose to attend this ACFE course?
I chose this course due to its location and the ability to sit exams during the course.

What did you think of the training structure Altior/ACFE provided?
It was a very good, targeted structure and I found it covered the material efficiently in the limited time available.

What were the highlights of the course for you?
Passing the exams!

What did you think of your tutor’s approach?
They were very pragmatic and targeted in their delivery. I found that they read the room well which helped the overall approach.

Did you find the learning resources helpful? And if so, in what way?
Yes, the combination of slides and abridged notes allowed coverage of the large amount of material in the time available, which proved useful when it came to the exam.

What have you gained from undertaking the course and obtaining the qualification?
It helped to provide an additional view point when performing audits.

Would you recommend Altior to a colleague and why?
Yes – the training was very helpful, focusing on the end goal of passing the exams.

Any other comments?
Thank you for getting us through it. It was exhausting (potentially it should have been delivered over a longer period of time) but the course and experience was very rewarding.
