Professional Skills Course
The PSC is designed to help those qualifying to be solicitors develop the necessary skills required to ensure they are competent to practice and meet the demanding needs of their clients. Made up of three core modules in Client Care & Professional Standards, Advocacy & Communication and Financial & Business Skills, the Professional Skills Course (PSC) is a mandatory course for all trainee solicitors.
PSC Elective Options
Altior offer a wide choice of elective courses, across many legal practice areas, that are taught through a mix of face to face tuition combined with distance learning to help retain knowledge. Sessions are highly interactive, using training techniques such as group work, role-play, scenario simulation, case studies and practical exercises to embed learning.
Higher Rights of Audience
Advance your career and professional standing by obtaining the skills to represent clients in either the civil or criminal higher courts. The Higher Rights of Audience qualification is available to any solicitor involved in advocacy work. Depending on your chosen pathway, on completion it will enable you to conduct advocacy in either the civil or criminal Higher Courts.
Trainee Litigation Programme
Experience first-hand the litigation process and overcome any difficulties you may have in satisfying the contentious element of the training contract with our Trainee Litigation Programme (TLP). The programme will expose learners, through a variety of activities, to all the contentious practice skills standards stipulated by the SRA as being a requirement of the period of recognised training.
Continued Professional Development
Undertake a wide range of specialist CPD courses that meet regulatory requirements for continued competence standards. We have an experienced team of trainers who are all experts in their specialist subject.

Advocacy & Litigation

CILEx Advocacy Skills
Altior are the sole provider of the CILEx Advocacy Skills Course in England and Wales. After successful completion, Chartered Legal Executives are accredited to provide a full range of litigation services to clients in their particular area of law. We offer the course in three pathways; Civil Litigation, Family Litigation and Criminal Litigation.
