At Altior, you’ll always get a personalised, 1-2-1 experience from our team. So, we thought it was important that you get to know them a little bit. This week, we’re starting with our marketing team and more specifically, Muyambo Kasweshi. Let’s get started…
Tell us a bit about who you are and what you do?
I’m Muyambo and I’m Altior’s Sales and Marketing Executive. My job role on a day-to-day basis varies from creating content, data maintenance to website maintenance, and everything in between.
Why did you decide to join Altior?
I’d recently graduated from Bournemouth University with a degree in Communication and Media and initially I wasn’t sure if I wanted to enter the creative industries – marketing, advertising, or public relations specifically. When I saw the job listing with Altior for a sales and marketing executive, I was immediately intrigued by the company and line of work. Education is something that means so much to me and the opportunity to develop my skills and experience in a business centred around ongoing development is something I couldn’t pass up.
What does success look like to you?
Success for me is the ability to work hard and do what I love every day. This may sound simple however, I’m my toughest critic. If I feel I haven’t worked or pushed myself to deliver results, then I’m not succeeding.
How would you describe your approach to work?
I would definitely say my approach to work is an organised mess. As much of a juxtaposition as that may be, it’s something that works well for me.
What motivates you?
As mentioned earlier, I’m my own biggest critic and the fear of failing is something that highly motivates me.
What do you love most about what you do?
Learning. I’ve always loved learning and developing my skills. Working at Altior has not only helped me build on to what I studied at university but has also built my knowledge of the legal industry. The legal industry is now something that I’m starting to consider adding to my future goals which should be surprising for anyone that knows me. For me, everything in life is always a learning experience.
Who inspires you?
My biggest inspiration has to be my mother. I’ve never met someone so determined to work hard in order to give back to her family – she has sacrificed so much for my sister and me.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I would like to see myself with a master’s degree in either project management or marketing. Or, alternatively, preparing to enter the world of teaching… perhaps – who knows what the future will hold?!
Away from being a sales and marketing executive, what do you enjoy doing?
Away from work, I enjoy getting creative. I’ve recently found my painting trunk which was banished after my GCSEs and really enjoyed picking up my paint brushes. Alongside this, I enjoy volunteering within my community and reading plays.
